These nearly century-old traditional homes have been fully renovated. Equipped with kitchens, each is available for stays of one night or more. Our renovations focused on creating clean, comfortable, modern spaces, with attention given to even the smallest detail.

You'll have the entire villa to yourselves, and with a fully equipped kitchen, you are free to make your own meals from local ingredients procured at nearby shops, or you can choose to eat out at one of the many restaurants in the neighborhood.

The Shinminato district of Imizu City in Toyama Prefecture--part of the Hokuriku region--is a port town that long prospered through fishing and trade. The town itself and the surrounding scenery are like something out of a mid-century period movie, and temples, shrines and small altars containing statues of Jizo, a Buddhist deity known as the protector of travelers, can be found around every corner.

To get here, fly into Toyama Airport, or take a bullet train to Toyama or Shin-Takaoka stations. From there, you'll travel by local train, bus or tram to arrive in Shinminato. Car rentals are also available at the airport or at stations serving the bullet train line.

There are many ways to enjoy the peaceful surroundings of this fishing village. Rent a kimono and take a stroll through town, or join a sightseeing cruise that will take you on a round-trip tour along the coast and up the Uchikawa River.
